SafeGolf Accreditation for NCLGA
NCLGA is pleased to announce that it has received SafeGolf accreditation from England Golf. SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies who are committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf.
The SafeGolf partnership consists of members from the golfing bodies across Great Britain & Ireland and has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf.
SafeGolf is firstly, a website – www.safegolf.org – through which anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.
Secondly, it is the safeguarding standard England Golf will promote to all their affiliated clubs/counties to ensure all clubs/counties provide a safe and positive experience to children and young people whilst playing golf. The PGA are also using the standards to apply to all their PGA professional Coaches.
AGM 2020 Notice
Due to Covid-19 restrictions and with safety being the primary consideration, the NCLGA Executive Committee have decided to cancel the AGM, scheduled for Monday 23rd November at Beeston Fields Golf Club. Alternative arrangements were considered but none were thought to be feasible.
Accordingly, all necessary documentation will be circulated to lady club secretaries in due course so that the information, consultation and voting requirements for an AGM can be met.
Lady President's Day Cancelled
Following the latest government restrictions which place Nottinghamshire in the HIGH tier of COVID-19 restrictions, our Lady President, Eva Glasby, with the full support of the executive committee, has made the decision to cancel Lady President’s Day, due to take place at Newark GC on Monday the 19th October 2020.
Our Treasurer Jenny Smith will be arranging refunds to all the teams. Autumn Meeting 2020
This Monday the 7th September we were at last able to hold a county competition and I would like to thank all the ladies who made the trip to College Pines to take part. The weather wasn’t marvellous and we did have an unfortunate spell of rain, but it did feel good to play at a different course. I would like to congratulate the winners of the day – please see the full results list which is published on the website.
My thanks go to College Pines for allowing us to hold the event on their course and to those members of the executive who have worked hard to ensure that the event ran smoothly. I hope that all ladies in the county are continuing to enjoy their golf, especially as winter will be upon us soon enough.
Keep well everyone.
